NotZero connects academic and prior-work evidence with current professional practice. It keeps the field context, source, inference, relationship, and uncertainty visible.
Field context comes before comparison
The evidence ledger records a field, target, location, and jurisdiction where relevant. A software tool, accounting standard, nursing guideline, and legal authority cannot be updated from the same source set. The current release includes one reviewed software pack. Other fields remain evidence-only until their own source and safety layers exist.
Evidence classes
Expected exposure
A curriculum says the learner was expected to encounter a topic. It does not prove mastery.
Demonstrated
A bounded artifact shows a specific capability. The conclusion stays within what the artifact supports.
Self-reported
The learner reports a capability that has not yet been verified by another artifact.
Inferred
A project behavior suggests an underlying concept. The reasoning and confidence must be visible.
Unknown
The available material does not support a responsible conclusion. Unknown is not converted into a gap.
Relationship before equivalence
Current tools can automate, standardize, encapsulate, or build on earlier work. Each bridge names the directional relationship, the concepts that transfer, and the concepts that remain new.
A dated, controlled market sample
The prepared software comparison uses eight employer postings reviewed on July 18, 2026 for Mexico and remote Latin America. NotZero stores normalized factual requirements and source links, not copied job descriptions. Counts show explicit mentions within this sample. They do not establish universal requirements.
Official Docker, GitHub, and OpenTelemetry documentation supports claims about what current tools automate, standardize, or make observable. Job-posting frequency alone cannot establish a tool relationship.
